School supplies for Karen students – the season is here!

Greetings to all our Project KARE friends –

We hope you have enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. We have so much to be thankful for!

As many of you are aware, life in Karen State has been especially difficult this year. However, thanks to your generosity, Project KARE has been able to accomplish amazing things!

Thanks to you, this year we have ….

Delivered $30,000 for school supplies – pens, pencils, notebooks and more!

Contributed $13,000 for humanitarian relief – rice, oil, salt.

Funded construction of two boarding houses – home for 150+ students!

And much more!

Earlier this year many students spent weeks, even months, hiding in the jungle during periods of air raids. Many villages, and some classrooms, have been damaged. As attacks shifted to surveillance, teachers and students focused their energy to the new school year. After digging bomb shelters, students returned to the classrooms, many with their school supplies provided by you!

Despite this unthinkable situation, leaders, teachers, and students are devoted to education. They refuse to let these obstacles get in their way. Messages from the students reflect their incredible strength of spirit. They look to the future with hope and determination. Students embrace education to provide them with the tools they need to help their people, and for a better, safer, future.

Your gifts have more impact now than ever before.

If you’re able to lend a hand again this year, please know the students are working hard and making the very most of your gifts.

Thank you for continued support!
