Winners of the Jan. 2020 Project KARE Student Photography Project at New Generation School, Dae Bu Noh village, Karen State in Burma. From left to right, student photographers are: Saw Dan Doh Moo, Ko Lo Hie and Mu Mu Htoo. The top six students in each school won a camera. The top three students also won a @Project KARE tee shirt and hat and an extra tee shirt from the Colorado Ballet. The three winners were so thrilled! As the names of the top three photographers were called they jumped out of their seat, yelped, and gave us a great big hug!
All of the student photographers have taken some amazing photos. They’re able to venture into many situations and environments that are often missed by visitors. Watch for their wonderful photos posted on our social media (FaceBook, Twitter & Instagram) throughout the year.
Thank you to all of you who donated nice used cameras. The students were very excited just to participate. For almost all of these students it was their very first time ever using a camera! We organized contests in two schools in rural Karen State – Mu Traw Jr. College and New Generation School. The top six photographers in each school were thrilled to win a camera to keep!
A big thank you also to Colorado Ballet and the Colorado Ballet Academy for donating dozens of beautiful tee shirts for prizes. The students absolutely love their new tee shirts!
